VINTAGE ROMANCE: A retrospective look at glamour and grace – with over-the-top romanticism and whimsy. This soft, feminine look combines misty, subtle colours, cosmetic accents like rouge or beachcomber, and soft pearlescents to add surface interest. Smoky, sophisticated grays and skin-toned blushes create a soft-focus effect that evokes timeless traditions and memories. Fabrics and finishes are aged, weathered and veiled.
INDUSTRIAL AGE: The cool materials and harsh lines of modernism are softened with organic influences. The palette is ashened, and subtle accents replace yesterday’s pop colours. The high chroma of lemon grass is subdued by the rich saturated teal yorktowne green, while gray mist provides a hint of exuberance. Our maple syrup accent takes orange down to an aged, bronze tone to complement the cool, sophisticated grays.
NATURAL ELEMENTS: Harmonious, grounded palettes are inspired by the seasons of nature. Organic colours, patterns and textures provide a fresh new take on bringing the outdoors in. Greens range from cool verdigris to sulphurous split pea to earthy clarksville gray. The muted, monochromatic scheme gains depth and interest through the introduction of natural textures and unexpected elements for a mood that is comfortable, refreshing and renewed.
CULTURAL MOSAIC: Indian, Latin and Asian influences meld into an exotic new landscape for interiors in the boldest of our palettes for 2007. This worldly trend radiates light and warmth simultaneously with a cool, refreshing twist. Deep browns ground the fresh, vibrant blue lake and potpourri green, while a subdued bronze and aged gold set the stage for a dusty coral accent. Artisanal carvings, intricate embroideries and metallic silks help complete the look.
